Classes from that past two weeks. Amazing atmosphere in the sessions at the moment and new faces giving this great art a try. Dont forget open mat sessions are back this weekend.

Ive never suffered from nerves, not sure why that is but when our club and team mates compete I feel sick to my stomach all day and cant eat (which if you know me is highly unusual 🤣).

Anyway I dont know why I worry because all of them perfomed brilliantly yesterday and couldnt be more pleased with each and every one of them. Solid performances and did yourselves and the team proud.

Shout out to the rest of the Checkmat Family who helped secure 3rd place in the teams event even though we had smaller numbers taking part.

Great job everyone, so good to be part of the Checkmat team and stand alongside you all. 🥋🙌🏼

Darren Yeoman great to catch up mate, great camaraderie between teams, your team are a credit to you 👍

Well what can I say about yesterdays Somerset Open, blinking amazing.
Every single one of our team that competed went out there and gave it everything and certainly didnt give any of their opponents an easy ride.
Win or lose I couldnt care less, we (Martin, Paddy and myself) are a extremely proud of the way you performed.

Lets keep up the intensity and look for the next one to compete in.

We took a nice little medal collection home along with a huge team joint effort to take 3rd in the teams comp with help from numerous Checkmat teams (sorry if Ive missed any out) Worcester, Bristol, Torquay, The Gauntlett (Neto Nunes), Plymouth, Essex and Hammersmith.
